About Legitdaily
Why I made it
The news can feel heavy, endless and hard to follow. Legitdaily turns it into a short daily game.
If you find it hard to keep up with the news, you are not alone: too many sources, too many alerts, too much bad mood. So instead of asking you to read everything, I give you five headlines a day. You swipe: true, fake, or partly fake. Then you see what really happened, with a short explanation.
It takes a couple of minutes, whenever you have some free time. A little every day, and you end up remembering more than you expect. No pressure, no account, no ads.
How we choose the headlines
Each quiz is made from the news of the day before. There are three kinds of headlines:
- True. A real story that really happened. We link to the original article so you can read it.
- Partly fake. A real story with one detail twisted: a number, a name, a date or a consequence. After you answer, we tell you what was wrong and what really happened.
- Fake. Invented from scratch, but plausible. After you answer, we explain it is false and why it could seem credible.
How we check them
- Real stories come from reliable sources: news agencies, major newspapers and official sources. We read the article before we use it, and we write our own short summary.
- Every quiz is reviewed by a person before it is published.
- The invented headlines are made on purpose for the game. We keep away from sensitive subjects (deaths, attacks, health, elections, private individuals). We never put made-up quotes in the mouth of a real person, and never accuse a specific person or company of anything.
- Please do not share the fake headlines as if they were real news.
Spotted a mistake?
We are careful, but we can get things wrong. If you find an error in a headline or an explanation, write to us at contact.legitdaily@proton.me and we will fix it.
